Sunken Gardens is owned and operated by the City of St. Petersburg. The Sunken Gardens Forever Foundation, an entirely separate nonprofit entity, supports important projects outside the scope of the city’s operating budget such as historic preservation, animal acquisitions and enrichment.

The Sunken Gardens Forever Foundation also provides enhancements to educational programming and advocates for preserving the Garden’s unique historic character. These efforts are all possible because of generous support from our donors.
