Vermicomposting with Laica Worms

August 3 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

three people talking at vendor booth

Interested in finding a better way to manage your food waste? Would you like to make your own soil amendment and feed nutrients to your soil?

Join Ana Maria of Laica Worms to learn how to use Red Wiggler composting worms to manage food waste and create vermicast in the process. Vermicast, or worm castings, has enhanced microbial populations that help to suppress disease, improves soil structure and texture, aerates soil, increases water holding capacity, and much more! Most importantly, worm castings are ocean- and pet-friendly. Why not stop throwing your food waste in the trash where it will end up in a landfill and begin your worm farming journey using those food scraps?

Talk is free with Sunken Gardens’ admission or membership. No pre-registration required.

Held in our air-conditioned Garden Room.
